PROGRAMS

Early Childhood

Pre-K:   3-12 children  per class with an aide.  Two sessions  AM and PM on a half-year rotating  basis. Time frames: 8:20 am – 11:00 am and 12:00 – 2:40 pm. Possibility of full time PreK-3 if needed.  3 and 5 day sessions are available.  

Pre-K4   Two  5day sessions AM and PM on a half-year rotating  basis. Full day sessions are also available.

Kindergarten – Full day only.Lunch in school

Children participate in daily programs of religious and academic education that form the basis for morally and intellectually healthy young adults.  Offered in a happy, nurturing environment, the Early Childhood Curriculum includes:

  • Family oriented religious training with morning and afternoon prayer.
  • Development of social skill
  • Color, number and letter recognition
  • Introductory reading and mathematics
  • Art, Music and Physical Education


 

Elementary Program

The core curriculum at Corpus Christi places a strong emphasis on the mastery of reading, math and science skills.  In grades 1 through 6, the development of thinking skills and the ability to work through problems are enhanced by the fostering of self-worth, self-respect and respect for others.  The integration of a strong Christian value system is reinforced throughout the elementary years.

The core curriculum for the elementary level includes:

Junior High

The Junior High is geared toward preparing our students for the academic rigors of high school.  In addition to more advanced academics, the students participate in the preparation of Liturgy and are involved in various community service projects.  The core curriculum for Junior High includes:

Literature / Language Arts /  Drama

Social Studies / Spanish

Specials

Art: Students learn arts and crafts. In older grades, they learn the basics of sketching and research various artists’ lives and  techniques. They also work with pastels and various art media.

Computer: Students learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Paint, PowerPoint and various art-based programs.  They also practice multitasking and accessing the Internet.  Skills acquired are then applied to their various subject areas.

Gym: Students exercise and practice the rules and skills of basketball, volleyball, golf, hockey, softball and other team sports.

Music: Students have Music class once a week where they practice singing,  liturgical hymns, popular music, classical songs.  They also learn basic music theory and  rhythm instruments.  There are 3 concerts per year: Christmas (Gr. K – 2); Catholic Schools Week (Grades 3 – 5 );  Spring (Gr. 6 – 8).  Students also have the opportunity to join the School choir (Grades 3 – 8).  The choir performs at all concerts and sings other functions as well.
