FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Corpus Christi School

Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604

                                                                                                                        September 2, 2008

Dear Parents,

The Home School Executive Board would like to take the opportunity to welcome new and returning school families.  We have been planning our fundraisers for the 2008-09 school year and we are excited about some of the new events and know that our existing events will be successful.  Our goal this year is to raise $100,000 and for each school family to volunteer 25 hours to help with various school functions.  Remember, tuition does not cover the entire cost of running the school.

In the past we have also raised sufficient funds to purchase new science, math and reading series textbooks.  This year we would like to replace the Social Science textbooks.  The textbooks your children would be using in all subjects would represent the most recently published materials.

At this time you should have returned the memo requesting you to select the option you will use to fulfill your obligation.  If you have not and would like to select a buyout option other than $325 of profits and 25 hours of service please do so by September 15, 2008.  Attached to this letter is your statement with your obligation.  If you selected an early buyout please make sure your payment is submitted to school by October 1, 2008.

Attached to this letter are the following:

Exhibit 2          2008 -2009 Service and Fundraising Programs

Exhibit 3          2008-2009 Fundraising Program Statement as of September 2, 2008

On Back to School Night we will be available for any questions regarding fundraisers and how you can fulfill your obligation.  In addition, we will be available on certain mornings in both the Pre-School and main school building to answer questions. The dates are set forth below:

Wednesday Sept 17 and Thursday September 18 - 8am to 9am

Thursday September 25 - 8am to 9am

Sincerely,

Corpus Christi Home School Executive Board

.

Corpus Christi School Fundraising Policy

The fundraising goal for the 2008-2009 school year is $100,000,since tuition only covers teacher salaries and the remaining operating costs of the school are paid with financial support from the Parish (a portion of your donations in thee weekly envelopes) bingo and fundraising.  The gap between the average cost per child and the average tuition paid per child is approximately $1,000

Each family will have two quotas to fulfill their obligations - - a service quota measured in hours and a fundraising profits quota measured in dollars.

Each family has a 25 hour service quota (12.5 hours for half day only Pre K families).    The time you spend on qualified activities will reduce your service quota for helping Corpus Christi School.  Please be advised unearned service hours will be billed at $7.50 per hour as per our Parish Finance Council.  This component of our program is important because it helps reduce cash out of pocket expenses of the school and without your time we cannot run successful fundraising events.

The fundraising profit quota for each family is $325 ($162.50 for half day only pre K families).  The per family quota is derived from our goal amount of $100,000 divided by the number of school families.  Accumulation of profits from all the events/sales will fulfill your $325 profit quota.  For example, if you sell $100 of Innisbrook products and our school earns an average profit of 45% you have raised $45 for our school and $45 will be applied to reduce your quota of $325.

To better plan for next year, please review the options summarized on the next page and decide how you plan on fulfilling your commitment and return the form to the school with your first tuition payment due July 1, 2008.  For those selecting a buyout option, payment is due by October 1, 2008.

You will receive a statement periodically so that you are aware of the status of fulfilling your quotas.  Fundraising and service obligations must be completed by May 1, 2009, accordingly, a final billing for unfulfilled obligations will be sent out in late April and payment must be made by May 1, 2009.  Report cards will not be distributed to children until fundraising and service obligations are fulfilled.
